How it began

My dreams of changing people’s lives began in first grade when I listened to the Chronicles of Narnia on CD’s in my family’s van. I dreamed that one day, “I will write stories like these to tell people about God.” That was the seed for why I wanted to be an author – to show to the world what the Truth is through fiction. Throughout high school I searched for Christian authors whose style and methods I could adopt. I spotted a lot of frustrating issues. Predictable plots, with cheesy characters, and themes/messages that were spelled out for me right from the first chapter. I felt fortunate to find Ted Dekker who gave me novels that I felt respected my intelligence and certain unspoken theological questions I was having.

Since then I’ve wanted to produce stories that are genuine and honest (not sugarcoating reality) yet the reader can trust that their values will be respected. I intend to plant a seed of hope in the reader’s heart that the Truth can be reconciled with the unfamiliar, the unknown, and the unexplored.

When I’m not working on a novel project I enjoy riding my mountain bike, solving my latest set of Sudoku puzzles, relaxing in my bed listening to ambient music, or cooking up a new story for fun! I’m also neurodivergent. I was diagnosed with high-functioning autism at four years old.
